Acorn Business Park
Clients: West Itchen Community Trust
The project involved the demolition of the original Acorn Business Centre and the subsequent construction of a new enterprise park consisting of “start up” sized industrial units.
The units consisted of a workshop area and a mezzanine floor for administrative purposes, there is also a suite of offices which have state of the art data and communication facilities.
A centralised amenities area which includes facilities for the unit occupiers to include a kitchen, shower rooms and toilets all with full DDA access and ample visitor car parking facilities.
The project provided many challenges including being located on a brown field site which was in a busy industrial area within the city centre.
The site team liaised closely with local business to ensure it was “business as usual” and the construction period had minimum impact on the day to day activities.
Local companies were used wherever possible with the supply of labour and materials.
